Dr. Subir Kumar Ray is working as a postdoctoral fellow at Electrodynamics Lab since April 2021. His research work involves discovery in the experimental characterization of polarization of heat. In 2020 he was a postdoctoral fellow jointly appointed at the University of Toronto & University Health Network (Princess Margaret Cancer Research Centre). He worked there on polarization parametric imaging of optically turbid medium such as biological tissues. Subir worked on polarization aspects of nano-scale light-matter interaction in a precisely engineered metamaterial in the spectral domain and received his Ph.D. in Physics from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata (IISER K) in 2019. He has completed his master's from Dept. of Physics, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi and Bachelor of Education (Teaching) from Vinaya-Bhavana, Visva-Bharati University. Apart from scientific research, Subir has diverse interests including sports, travelling, music, poetry, art and culture.
