Post-Deadline Talk at CLEO 2025

Our research group delivered a post-deadline talk at the Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics (CLEO) 2025 in Long Beach, California, which took place from May 4-9, 2025. This talk, reserved for reports of significant and timely research, highlights our group's contributions to the field of modern optics.

The presentation detailed a method for transduction, where optical properties are mapped onto the quantum state of matter. While the transduction of energy and momentum is common, our work demonstrated the mapping of the polarity of an optical skyrmion onto the quantum phase texture  of nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamond.

This research integrates the fields of structured light and quantum impurities. By establishing a mechanism to control the quantum phase of a quantum system using structured light, our work provides a new approach for developing advanced quantum technologies. While scaling remains a topic of ongoing research, this work offers a path for controlling various quantum systems.
