A big congratulations to Shoaib Mahmud and the entire NV team on their new paper, "Quantum imaging of photonic spin texture in an OAM beam with NV centers in diamond," published in the prestigious journal New Journal of Physics. This publication highlights the innovative work being done by our group in the field of quantum sensing.
The paper presents a significant advancement in quantum imaging, demonstrating the use of nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamond as nanoscale quantum sensors. This novel technique allows for the imaging of photonic spin texture, which is the spatial distribution of the spin angular momentum of light, a property connected to unique phenomena like optical skyrmions. The team's research leverages the coherent interaction between photon spin and the NV center electron spin to achieve sub-wavelength imaging of light's spin texture.
This is a major step forward for developing new quantum imaging platforms that could be used for a wide range of applications. We are proud of this exceptional and rigorous work, which contributes to the growing field of quantum technology.
