A huge congratulations to Leif and the entire research team on the publication of their groundbreaking paper, "Spintronic Bolometer for High-Sensitivity THz Detection," in the prestigious journal Nano Letters.
This work addresses a long-standing challenge in infrared detection. While "digital detectors" like avalanche diodes are common in visible light, the infrared spectrum has been dominated by less-efficient "analog detectors." The team's paper introduces a new nanophotonic bolometer that functions as a digital detector, providing "clicks" from thermally activated transitions between two discrete magnetic states.
We are incredibly proud of this collective achievement and look forward to the continued impact of this research.
